Back in the year Two Thousands, I read a book called Telecosm: How infinite bandwidth will revolutionize our world.I got so excited about this because I was living in a space at that point that if I had a client with multiple locations, we’d have to set up a server in each and every location and then we had to figure out how to synchronize data and it was a mess. It was really kind of a pain in the butt to deal with.
And in this book they talked about a future world in which you could put your server in a data center somewhere and then you could have access to your data, your desktop, your everything. No matter where you were, whether be on a tablet, or on a home computer, or in the office. It would all be exactly the same.
And at the time it sounded pretty fantastic but that’s exactly what we have today. Gone are the limitations for geographic location. You can have a very tightly integrated office that’s distributed around the world and the costs are no different than having a server right in your own office.
It really is a fantastic place to live now.
So, if you’re looking for flexibility. If you want to have a fully functional team member in another part of world, it can be done now. Bandwidth has made everything accessible to everybody. It’s fantastic.
